“In an action that would make Dave Winer and the people at theyworkforyou proud a Lewisham councillor has used the new Town Hall WiFi coverage and live-blogged a council meeting about the closure of Ladywell Leisure Centre and the somewhat confusing attempts to replace it with a secondary school.
Does anyone know whether this constitutes the first live blogging of a British council meeting by an elected member? From what we can see this situation is spreading to a full-on scrutiny, by campaigners, of Lewisham Council’s decision-making processes that is beyond our understanding.
We do welcome this evidence of local people, and their representatives, using new technologies to get their message and their information out though. What next, Ladywell the podcast?
