Countdown begins for sports park at Crystal Palace

“THE push to have an iconic sports centre rebuilt in time for the 2012 Olympics begins next month. The London Development Agency (LDA) has drawn up a number of options for the future of Crystal Palace Park including the National Sports Centre.

These will be unveiled for a public consultation in October. However, there is already concern the plans will be too ambitious to complete in time for the London games.

Although no decision has yet been made, it is likely investment would be poured into the current sports centre to maintain it while new state-of-the-art facilities are built.”
