“Veteran Mark Foster has become the first British swimmer to break the 22-second barrier for the 50m freestyle.
The 38-year-old has climbed into the top 10 in the world rankings after clocking 21.96secs at the Golden Bear meet in Zagreb.
That was 0.17 seconds faster than Foster’s previous best and sees him regain the British record from Simon Burnett – however it is still some way short of Eamon Sullivan’s world record of 21.28.”
