On Saturday night after driving to Dagenham through an ‘end of the world’ deluge one of the smallest competitive teams ever from Clissold swam in the East London Mini League. Numbers had been so low because of prior commitments that we had almost considered withdrawing.

We were the smallest team by far and there was a lot of swimming for everyone, every swimmer worked and swam hard and achieved an amazing second place! This was the hardest gala in which to pick ’swimmers of the gala’ as everyone behaved, organised themselves and swam so well. Best girl was Gemma who continues to improve so well and swam a wonderful butterfly and best boy was Harry for swimming well and assisting with team organisation.

Despite being a small team, we came a magnificent second in this gala! And even better as it was a 33m pool, which many of our swimmers are not familiar with, and it’s difficult to assess the times. Many thanks to all of you for getting there and swimming so well. Thanks in particular to Lucien for his last minute replacement. And to Christophe for helping poolside, as well as Justin and Sarah.
