Job Description
Clissold Masters is seeking an enthusiastic, self motivated, suitability qualified and experienced coach to teach/coach masters and masters-lite in line with the club’s ethics and ambitions and to help swimmers develop and achieve their ambitions. The post will involve the tuition and management of skills, stroke and fitness and the post-holder should be able to offer a full range of teaching skills. The ideal candidate will be well-organised, efficient and punctual with a sound knowledge of the sport. They will be a confident and effective communicator who is patient and flexible. They will be able to work as part of a team with an ability to plan and act in a development role.
Clissold Swimming Club is Hackney’s competitive swimming-club. We teach/coach 5 days per week (3 morning sessions, 2 evening sessions) providing masters with 7 hours pool time per week. We use two venues – the 50 m London Fields Lido and the 25m pool at Clissold Leisure Centre. We are currently working towards the ASA Swim 21 accreditation scheme
Responsibilities include:
- Coaching masters and masters-lite on a weekly basis
- Produce weekly session plans for all levels which follow yearly cycle
- Develop individuals as far as ability and commitment levels allow.
- Help to organise a competition programme for swimmers, advise on suitability of races, organise entry-forms, attend up to 3 events per year.
- Organise a masters open-meet promoted by Clissold SC in 2010.
- Develop the masters and masters-lite programme to achieve the Club’s objectives set out in our Masters strategy.
