With a splash and a bang ...

… CSC last Sunday made its debut as a competitive diving club when Amina, Eve, Alice, Jude & Isaac all took part in the Open Novices event at Walthamstow Track and Pool on Sunday. The event was specifically designed to cater for relatively new and inexperienced divers though there were plenty of spectacular, higher tariff dives on show from youngsters belonging to the bigger, more established diving clubs taking part. So it is brilliant to be able to report that all our divers did us proud, securing 6th place out of 8 overall for the day, while Jude—the youngest competitor and in a class of his own—came home with gold in his age-group. A special mention also for Eve who had a rather too close encounter with the board, but was more hurt by the fact that she’d fluffed the dive and her chances. True grit and a truly great effort all round. Thanks to Rick and to Waltham Forest Diving Club for making it happen.
