It is important for swimmers to have the right gear for in the pool. Well-made, slick costumes by the major suppliers designed for competitive swimming do help people to swim better. Baggy beach-shorts on boys (Stoopeedos) and thick fabric costumes on girls create drag and make it more difficult to swim and train; bikinis do not allow the right movement.
Good goggles are important not only for protecting eyes but also for allowing swimmers to see each other, avoid collisions and to watch other swimmers’ strokes. Swim caps on boys and girls protect hair especially when swimming in the squad is an almost daily ocurrence. Most importantly a swim-cap gets the hair out of the way and stops the distraction of it falling across the face.
When swimmers start to compete more equipment may be needed but it is still far less than in other sports. CLICK THE VEST FOR OUR ONLINE CATALOGUE
