Welcome
Clissold Masters Swimming Club is based in East London, UK. Training sessions are held at London Fields Lido, E8 3EU and Clissold Leisure Centre, N16 9EX
Clissold Masters is a competitive swimming club. We welcome swimmers who are new to swim-training or returning after a break. We want people who aim to improve and also people who want to participate in club life, volunteering and participating in events. All our swimming training sessions are designed to improve fitness and/or to train for specific goals. We participate in county and national competitions, and open-water events; see the meet diary page for details.
Clissold Masters has two types of sessions to suit different types of adult swimmer: Masters and Masters ‘Lite’. Masters ‘Lite’ is for swimmers who can swim two strokes and have an appetite to improve stroke-technique and to increase speed on all four strokes. Masters is for competent swimmers who can swim four strokes and who may be preparing for competition in masters, open-water or triathlon.
Assessments and free taster-sessions are available at 6.30am***, Thursday or 7.30am Saturday at London Fields Lido or 8pm Tuesday or Thursday at Clissold Leisure Centre.

- * To enquire about Diving classes for Masters, drop a line to diving@clissoldswimmingclub.org.uk
- ** The Sunday evening Masters Swimming session is uncoached.
- *** As London Fields Lido has no flood lighting and has been fitted with insufficient lighting in the tank, opening and closing times, especially in the winter, are subject to the vagaries of the British weather over which Clissold SC has no control. This can be as late as 8am in the winter.

Costs
Cost of membership
The annual membership fee for 2012 is £10.40 per year, or £27.20 per year for ‘Category 2’ competitive swimmers (see below). There is a £10 joining fee in the first year.
The annual membership fee incorporates Amateur Swimming Association (ASA) registration, which includes insurance. Swimmers can register as one of the following:
- Category 1 ASA membership – this is usually sufficient for those members who only expect to compete at club galas or are non-competitive swimmers.
- Category 2 ASA membership – is for ALL swimmers wishing to compete in Open Meets or in County, District, Regional or National events.
Cost of sessions
Payment for swimming sessions is by standing order. The following options are available:
- £42 a month for up to two sessions per week
- £56 a month for more than two sessions per week
Concessionary rates are available.

Applying for membership
All swimmers are offered a free taster-session. Following this session, all swimmers must become members of Clissold Swimming Club. You can download our membership welcome pack here.
Membership of Clissold Masters is limited. Please email masters@clissoldswimmingclub.org.uk to express interest in joining Clissold Masters and to arrange a free taster-session.
