How the club is run, and by whom

The Clissold S.C. Masters’ Subcommittee meets every few weeks, as need arises, to discuss matters relating to the running of the Masters club.  Topics include:

  • Ensuring the needs of the broad range of swimmers are met
  • Coaching strategy; liaison with the coaches
  • Forthcoming swim meets
  • Membership
  • Payments

All members are welcome to attend the Masters’ Subcommittee meetings, and are encouraged to contribute to the running of the club.  Subcommittee meetings are regularly attended by:

Mark Harris (Masters Coach)
Chris Kaethner (Subcommittee; web site; times and rankings records)
Sarah Kelley (Club Head Coach)
Ailbhe (Alva) McNabola (Subcommittee; social – i.e. cake, … and pub)
Eleanor Schooling (Subcommittee; liaison with the main committee)
Katie Ward (Subcommittee(1); Competition Sec.)

Notes on membership

Guest passes

Members are permitted to bring a visiting guest to any session, subject to space and at a cost of £10, payable poolside on the day.

Discouraging seasonal membership

Having left the club a member may not rejoin the club until 12 months after leaving, other than by paying the lapsed fees since leaving. This is to discourage ‘summer only’ members and the practice of ‘switching off’ payments while on holiday etc., and will help maintain a predictable income. Exceptions will be considered.
