Report on the Eric Penwill u 13 relay gala, held at Southbury Road on 22nd Feb 2010
Swimmers Daniella, Sofia, Lily, Skye, Jessica S, Andrea, Phoebe, Eve, Lotte, Verena, Milena, Adrene, Leah, Bella, Dottie, Gemma, Carlotta
Aaron, James B, Bede, Ned, Alex, Oisin, Jake, Bede, Adam, Harry, Thomas, Rene, Ethan,
We came 6th in this very demanding relay gala. Lots of PB’s for our swimmers and really good swims. We lost four boys on the day, which meant that we didn’t in the end have our quota of 9 year olds, therefore declaring 3 races. The U11 girls did well in their medley coming 2nd, and we had two 4th places as well for U13 boys freestyle and U12 girls freestyle.
A few club records on these 25m times:-
Aaron – U10 25m back
Adam – U12 25m Back
Phoebe – U12 25m Breast
Thomas – U14 25m Breast
Adam – U12 25m Free
So well done to them, and to all the swimmers. I think everyone got a PB at some point during the evening. Highlighted in Red on the Results Sheet.

Report on North London Graded League Gala hosted by Anaconda held at Park Road pool on Saturday 30th January 2010

Leyla, Mathilda W, Billie, Carlotta, Grace BS, Gemma, Nadia, Leah, Lilian, Matilda O, Laure-Alizee, Alice L, Grace B, Claudia

This was our first North London Graded League Gala of the year, held at Park road Pool. We came second in the end, after leading almost all the way through the gala the last few relays are always very difficult to judge!
Many thanks to Sarah and Chelsea, Chock, Alex, Christophe, Rachael and Ella for their considerable work poolside, and to all parents for supporting the team so whole-heartedly.
The results can be found here. There are so many placings that I am not going to list them individually here. The placings are all in the last column. We had 6 upgrades which means you swam faster than we thought you would! 8 first places, 10 Second places and 17 3rd places. This is really excellent swimming.
All the times in RED are Personal Best times – and as you can see there were LOADS of them in this gala – so well done to everyone for that. This is a really fantastic thing to see in our first team gala of the year.
The times in BLUE are unofficial Personal best times – taken from splits timed by us. They cannot be used as they are not completely accurate, but we use them as indicators in future galas. Lots of these as well – so well done to everyone who achieved so much in one evening.
It’s always difficult to choose swimmers of the gala – but this time they are BILLIE for two great 100m swims and a huge Personal Best time on her 100m Front Crawl, and ILYAM for some fantastic swims, and for being the only one who showered before he got into the pool.
Well done also to Ilyam, Pablo R, Grace and Hector for swimming in their first external gala for Clissold.
We look forward to great success in the league this year.
—Karen Patrick
